Why Have an Off-Grid Power System?

- Do you live more than 2km's away from the National Grid?

- Do you wish to be independent of the National Grid?

- Do you own, or intend on owning a holiday home somewhere that can't get grid power?

- Do you own a Dairy Farm? Is your Milking Shed positioned for power reasons?
Why not have an Off-Grid power system and put it wherever you want.

- Do you own a Sheep Farm? Is your Shearing Shed positioned for power reasons?
Why not have an Off-Grid power system and put it wherever you want.

- Does your neighbour complain about the fact that your generator is going all day and late into the night to supply power to your holiday home?
Why not have an Off-Grid power system that can be programmed to control generator activity. The system is designed to meet all requirements including generator noise emissions.

If your answer to any of these questions is YES, then we would welcome contact from you so that we can provide a no obligation solution. Contact Matt at Power & Water Ltd.

How Does Your Off-Grid Solution Work?

This is a good question as all you will see is a small building, with some solar panels on the top and a door indicating an entry point. Once inside however, it will become very clear that a lot of well thought out Engineering design has gone into our solution, a process that has taken over two years to perfect.

You will notice the Generator positioned very nicely inside its own custom built enclosure, you will also see how the air intake has been designed.

You will also see the AC and DC distribution and notice the screen of the PLC (the brains of the operation) neatly positioned in front of you next to the Inverter/Charger.

The last thing that will stand out, of course, is the battery bank contained in it's own purpose built stand.

You can now step outside, rest assured, that even though it may look like a glorified little out house, that a lot of work has gone into our Power Hut and that maybe it will do what we claim it will do.

Is This A One Size Fits All Solution?

We have designed and build 3 standard sizes; Small, Medium and Large, due mainly to the size and number of the different components used for each.

What Is Electrical Compliance?

Electrical Compliance means that any electrical wiring that is for a system of above 50Vac or 120Vdc, must be done by a registered electrician, and all these works must be accompanied by an Electrical Certificate of Compliance.

Why Do I Need Electrical Compliance?

Without it, assuming the above criteria, your installation will not comply. A Certificate of Compliance also assures you that the work has been carried out in a safe and proper manner and that all aspects of AS/NZS3000 and associated standards have been complied with.

Compliance also gives you piece of mind should you ever need to deal with electrical insurance issues.

Each Power Hut is built to exacting design and compliance standards and is issued with a Certificate Of Compliance when it leaves our workshop.

Can I Add Additional Power Sources To My Power Hut System?

Yes, we will factor in any additional power sources when submitting our proposal to you. This could be in the form of Wind Generation, Mini Hydro, Additional Solar Panels, Solar Water Heating and so on.

What Will The Power Hut Cost?

The cost of each Power Hut will depend on your individual circumstances. Once we have a detailed picture of your useage requirements, we will recommend the most cost effective solution for you as part of our priced proposal to you.

What Do I Need To Do Next?

Step 1 - Once you've made the decision to investigate an Off-Grid Power Supply, Contact Matt at Power & Water Ltd.

Step 2 - We will discuss your installation requirements in more depth. We will help to decide which Power Hut is best for your requirements, possible location options, and if additional power generation components (solar, wind, or hydro) are viable or cost effective to add to your Power Hut system.

Step 3 - We will then provide a written proposal for the supply of a Power Hut based around one of the 3 sizes we manufacture.

Step 4 - Installation costs, transportation to site, mains supply cabling to the load, and installation of a silent exhaust system are additional costs that must also be budgeted for. This work proposal will be organised by Power & Water separately.
